Stinky, stinky, stinky TO Clean, clean, clean

With as many active dogs as we have, they dont always smell like flowers and rainbows. Neither do there beds and blankets. I have tried EVERYTHING to try and get the smell out a few of their beds, but most of the time I end up just throwing them out. Well by accident I discovered that adding a small amount of simple green to any load of laundry will make them smell SO good.

I also have plans for a dog bed that will make it easy to wash as well as keep the stuffing from smelling. (coming soon)

Try a cap full of simple green in your next load and be amazed at how great your clothes smell.

New Years Resolutions Uncovered

Whether its losing weight or just trying to be happier everyone always has more than one thing. Some people make it the whole year and others try "hard." Either way we all start off in the same place. An idea.

I have noticed that if it is more than one person attempting to complete something it works out better. Maybe its the support from other people, or even a competative side coming out, the end result is always satisfactory.

So I'm thinking this year I want to create a list and post it up for everyone to see and record my progress. (Located in my pages section) Maybe this will help me stick to everything I want to accomplish. And if anyone wants to post theirs or join me in any of mine your more than welcome too.

Good luck with all your New Year Resolutions!!

Todays Score at the Fabric Store

Here are all the fabrics I picked up from my local JoAnn's Fabric. All of them for the low total of $22. A few were on the clearance racks, that were also marked at 50% off the red tag. Others were on sale for 30% off the per yard price. I just got 1/4 of a yard of those, but got about 1 yard of the clearance fabrics.

I love the color and patterns of the florals, but the deep teals and blues. But most of all I love the prices of these amazing fabrics. I can't but describe it as a STEAL! haha.

They should last me a few days, if not weeks, of projects. hopefully!!

Sewing it up

So ever since I finished my book, I have been itching to get my fingers on the power switch.

Gettin' Down with the Machine...

before powering up.

I couldn't have been more excited than on Christmas, than when I opened my sewing machine. All the ideas rushing out of my brain making my fingers itch. But first I had to figure out HOW to start. So I went to the fabric store and looked at some books. I finally decided on a great book that was REALLY helpful and had great tips and projects.

An Amazing Christmas Haul

This Christmas would rank top ten of all the Christmas' I can remember. Its was full of family, friends, laughter, special moments, tools for DIY projects and future clothing lines. (fingers crossed)

Christmas tree adventures

Yesterday Davy, my fiance, and I went with his parents to cut down our Christmas trees. We stopped at a few little lots, and then decided to go to a small tree farm we had never visited befor, Garlock Tree Farm. It was AWESOME. They offered free horse drawn carriage rides, pony rides, a petting zoo and little cafe complete with homemade goodies in their barn. The people were really friendly and their tree selection was top notch. We ended up with a great tree that even included pine cones. Since we have a very limited amount of ornaments, I was really pumped. The prices were very competative as well for the cut-your-own tree path.

I wish I had taken a few pictures of the farm. It truly was awesome, and will definetly be returning for the next few years. Atmosphere and first impressions are everything.

Once my tree is decorated I'll post a few pics. Stay posted.

As promised

Pictures of my Black Friday scores from Kohls.

My red clutch that I think will go amazing with my
red leather jacket that I got from the local Mission Solano.

Birthday Amazingness

So yesterday was my birthday and it was AMAZING! I got a few new things for my blog, specifically, the laptop. Now I can update while on the road or at work. I also snagged a tool box for the back of my truck.

Kohls was my one stop for Black Friday and it proved great. I was able to splurge on one small messenger bag and two clutches, which were 50% off. One is red, the other is cream with a detailed butterfly on the front. The messenger bag is a teal green. (pictures to come soon.)
