So ever since I finished my book, I have been itching to get my fingers on the power switch.

New Directions and Clear Outlines
If you are a regular viewer of my blog you will notice a few things are changing. I'm starting to figure out the direction I want to go with this blog and how I feel I will get the most out of it.
So for a few months now my future mother-in-law and I have been planning to start our own line of products, Dertie Panties; personalized dog beds, dog clothes, jewlery and baby onsies.
Most of our items will be made from other items we had laying around.
More about the project to come once we work out how things are going to be done.
Stay tuned for more info and please check back often to support us on this amazing adventure.

Gettin' Down with the Machine...
before powering up.
I couldn't have been more excited than on Christmas, than when I opened my sewing machine. All the ideas rushing out of my brain making my fingers itch. But first I had to figure out HOW to start. So I went to the fabric store and looked at some books. I finally decided on a great book that was REALLY helpful and had great tips and projects.

Last nights Chow Fun Recipe
Last night I wanted to try something different, so I decided I would make Chow Fun. The recipe seemed really simple, so I headed to my local Asian Market and picked up my ingredients. When I got home I realized I was missing some. I improvised and made a few changes to my recipe.
It may not look as amazing as in a restaurant, but it was just as tasty!

Pretty in Pink
My photography is often a reflection of how I am feeling, and what I enjoy the most in my life. So enjoy!
Here is a photo of Panda (roo) in her pretty pink dress fresh after a bath, blowout and brush.

Lighted wreath for the Holidays
Since I got my tree yesterday I really wanted to make a live wreath for the holidays, so I grabbed the excess branches from the in-laws tree and the rest of our tree to tie together for a wreath. Thats about as far as I got, before I got a call from my mom. She really wanted to make a new wreath and get a few new decoration for her tree, so we headed to Michael's and started going crazy!

Baked Pene Pasta with Italtian Sausage
This recipe was great. Quick and easy to throw together with little time and ingredients, but AMAZING to the taste buds.
Christmas tree adventures
Yesterday Davy, my fiance, and I went with his parents to cut down our Christmas trees. We stopped at a few little lots, and then decided to go to a small tree farm we had never visited befor, Garlock Tree Farm. It was AWESOME. They offered free horse drawn carriage rides, pony rides, a petting zoo and little cafe complete with homemade goodies in their barn. The people were really friendly and their tree selection was top notch. We ended up with a great tree that even included pine cones. Since we have a very limited amount of ornaments, I was really pumped. The prices were very competative as well for the cut-your-own tree path.
I wish I had taken a few pictures of the farm. It truly was awesome, and will definetly be returning for the next few years. Atmosphere and first impressions are everything.
Once my tree is decorated I'll post a few pics. Stay posted.

Birthday Amazingness
So yesterday was my birthday and it was AMAZING! I got a few new things for my blog, specifically, the laptop. Now I can update while on the road or at work. I also snagged a tool box for the back of my truck.
Kohls was my one stop for Black Friday and it proved great. I was able to splurge on one small messenger bag and two clutches, which were 50% off. One is red, the other is cream with a detailed butterfly on the front. The messenger bag is a teal green. (pictures to come soon.)

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder
I am in no way a professional photographer, or will I ever strive to be one. I'm just a girl, with a camera phone, some apps and a need to share things that are beautiful to me.
This is my first DIY project, YAY!
I saw this look on Pinterest, and was really blown away by how pretty AND easy it was to do. Ill show you how to do it step by step. (please excuse my cuticles, I'm not great at doing my nails.)

50% off meets thrift store
This past weekend, veterans day weekend, proved to be the most fruitful. It did wonders to my wallet, with all the sales going on for the holiday! 50% off clothing and 30% off everything else.

Current ideas and projects
Right now I have a few ideas floating around in my head, but first I need one important key to starting any of them. Sewing machine. So, I'm shopping around to try to find something cost effective and in great condition. Craigslist is my main shopping sight, but I might try to sift out a few thrift stores. Keep posted for things to start coming together!

Yet another score, at the thrift store! hey that rhymed....
My friend had decided to completely transform one of the rooms in her house into her "blog" room. We planned and planned for the transformation and by the end of the night, we were no closer to actually deciding what she wanted to do than before we even started. There were only 2 things that we were completely sure about; the first was that we knew for sure was that we were completely overwhelmed and exhausted. The second, was we really wanted to utilize our new found hobby, thrift store shopping, to it's fullest.

4 thrift stores later
Today We ventured from Vallejo back to Fairfield, hitting all the thrift stores and Goodwills we could possibly find. 4 hours later and 4 stores past 8am this morning, the trunk was full and our moods were soaring. Each of us found things that we had been wanting, along with a few treasures we never even though existed. And, I may stand corrected, but believe that we each picked up 1 or 2 items the other was jealous of. I know mine was the owl piggy bank that was purchased for $5.00 from the Vallejo Eco-thrift, an amazing store by the way. Below are the finds that I will be proud to wear out.

Direction of this blog
I'm not entirely sure what direction I want this blog to take. But I do know, that if it is anything like its creator, it will be fun and a WHOLE LOT of random. I guess the title of the blog suites amazingly. Over the next few days, I'll be dealing more with blog designs and fiddling with ideas, than actual posts, but please check back as often as you would like! Goodnight my lovelies, Tomorrow brings new things and new ideas.
Letter to self
( I wrote this a LONG time ago, and every so often look back on it. It still helps. Some things have changed, but the message is still very loud and clear. Thank you self.)
Dear self,
I complied a few of the things that await you in the few months you have left away from them. Hope you enjoy. And please keep in mind, that this adventure is for your growth not a punishment. You know we both need this.
(passion, simplicity and chaos)
(beautiful downieville)
(uncontrolable, untamable and unchangable)
(baby boi)
(love, heartbreak and possibilities)
(dorm buddies and close friends)
(support, sharing and truth)
(complete randomness)
(the mystery, the unknown and the release )
Try not to worry so much. Times are going to seem so long, but just remember that things are going to be how they will be. I know all you want to do is feel something other than emptiness, but it will come in time. I dont know what your going to do, or whats going to happen to your world, but you make it what it is. Trust yourself, even if you feel lost. Take one day at a time and remember who you are.
Love,
Me
p.s.
(to you...these ones arn't for me...)
